prednisolone

prednisolone
n.
a synthetic corticosteroid used to treat rheumatic diseases, inflammatory and allergic conditions (e.g. inflammatory bowel disease and asthma), and some cancers (e.g. leukaemia, lymphoma). It is administered by mouth or rectally, injected into joints, or applied in drops (to treat eye or ear conditions). Side-effects are those of cortisone.
Trade names:
Deltacortril Enteric, Deltastab, Predenema, Predfoam, Pred Fort, Predsol.
